For the Miles Davis: The Electric Years box set, I led art direction and design with a focus on channeling the raw, transcendent energy of Miles’ most experimental period. The visual identity was deeply influenced by the work of photographer Tadayuki Naitoh, whose images of Miles during this era capture both the frenetic motion and meditative stillness that defined his electric sound. The color palette and typography echoed the intensity and psychedelia of the music itself, creating a tactile, immersive experience that honors this vital, shape-shifting chapter of Miles’ legacy.
